DOCUMENTS SHOULD NOT BE SIGNED OR DATED PRIOR TO MEETING THE NOTARY

  • You must have a reasonable internet connection, video and audio capabilities, and be familiar with using video confrencing applications such as ZOOM or Teams.

  • You must possess a legitimate government-issued ID bearing your picture and signature such as a driver's licence or passport.

  • Your notarized document(s) will be available for download from your account. Upon request, the Notary will mail sealed, ink-signed hard copies of your document(s) to your mailing address.

Yes. We can virtually notarize any document in Canada and Internationally.

  • Simply email your documents to us.

  • Once we verify your ID, we can proceed to notarize your document(s).

  • We will then email the notarized copies and mail hardcopies upon request.

  • Our standard fee for in-person notarization is $15.00 for the first copy and $10.00 for each additional copy.

  • Our standard fee for online notarization is $25.00 for the first copy and $15.00 for each additional copy.

Notary Public & Commissioner of Oath Services Questions

  • A notary public can verify that signatures, marks, and copies of documents are true or genuine and has a commissioner's authority for taking affidavits. The Notaries Act governs the use of notaries.

  • In Ontario, each and every paralegal and attorney is also a commissioner for taking affidavits by default.

  • Affidavits are taken by commissioners for taking affidavits, also known as commissioners of oaths, who asks you to swear or affirm that the information in a document is true.

  • Oaths may be administered and affidavits, declarations, and affirmations may be taken by someone who is appointed as a commissioner under the Commissioners for Taking Affidavits Act. Whenever permitted or required by law, they may do so, subject to any restrictions laid out in their appointment certificate.

An affidavit is a written sworn declaration of facts that has been signed by a person (referred to as the "affiant") in front of a person who is qualified to administer oaths, such as a Notary Public or a Commissioner of Oaths, and is usually organised in numbered sentences or paragraphs. In order to establish the facts of a case, affidavits are frequently utilised in court.

Here are just a few times you would need an affidavit.

  • Transferring ownership of a used vehicle to another person.

  • Gifting a used vehicle to a member of your family.

  • Applying for a municipal licence or an exception to a zoning limitation in court, for instance, small claims, family, and/or civil court.

  • Requesting a municipal licence or a zoning restriction exception (also known as a zoning variance).
